Take a second to look around you. Everything in sight plays an integral role in what makes up the atmosphere you’re a part of. The most important piece? Yourself and the people you interact with. Everyone has a discourse that they call their own. And we all like to think we have a ‘style’ our own as well. Atmosfere in Minneapolis has been a proud proponent of this individuality since its induction. Their ‘live in yours, shop in ours’ motto can be experienced by simply visiting the store. Atmosfere has been outfitting men of Minneapolis since 2005 with fashion forward pieces.
After searching for a place that finally felt like home (debuting in Gaviidae Commons, moving into Calhoun Square after two years and staying for there for another three and now back), Atmosfere will be cementing themselves in the North Loop for the long-term future. During the duration at those previous locations, they’ve accumulated quite an array of great customers. They have done a fine job accommodating everyone they’ve met in that time. Swing by and check things out for yourself. Chat fashion, have a seat and grab a drink, get an outfit for the weekend. Whatever your disposition may be, they make you feel right at home along with them.
Dan Capetz – As a life long retailer and boutique owner, Dan opened his first store early 1984 in Calhoun Square.
Always on the leading edge of fashion, he has owned and worked with top boutiques in Minneapolis for the last 27 years. His time with Saks and Neiman Marcus helped him extend his knowledge of the retail industry.
He founded Atmosfere in the fall of 2005, opening the first location downtown in Gaviidae Commons. He’s never lost sight of offering great fashion with great quality, at a great price.
Damon Capetz – Also a lifelong retailer (albeit a much smaller sample size), Damon began in this industry at age 15. After spending 4 years working sales in the skate/snow industry, he moved back from College at UMD to join his father and Atmosfere in 2007.
Having learned the basics in the corporate scene, transitioning into the boutique locale was a welcomed venture. Learning from Dan has also been an immeasurable asset. Growing up with Dan, clothing always seemed second nature. And as his tenure with the company progressed, so did his responsibilities.
Now as the men’s buyer for the store over the last 4 years, Damon hopes to reintroduce women’s to Atmosfere’s repertoire in the new North Loop location. Thus, ushering in another successful decade for the store.
